Draft Not Syncing (Traveler)
This article will help you troubleshoot if your documents are not showing up in your Postbox account. This article is intended to be followed chronologically as a way to systematically remove possible issues. In this article, you will be instructed on how to:
- Check if your draft has sync'ed
- Check your Wi-Fi connection
- Check your login status
- Check your Postbox connection status
- Back up and restart your Freewrite
Note: Documents can sometimes take a few extra minutes to sync, so we recommend waiting to see if the problem resolves on its own before troubleshooting. However, if the problem persists for over 10 minutes, proceed with this list.
Step 1: Check sync status.
Your drafts are always saved locally. When things are not showing up as you expect in Postbox, check to see if your device thinks they are sync'ed.
While viewing the document that has not yet sync'ed to your Postbox account, hold down the space bar. You should see the words "Draft Synced to Postbox" under the battery icon. Wait a few moments and see if the draft shows up in your Postbox account. If you do not see "Daft Synced to Postbox" or your draft is still not showing up in Postbox, please continue…
Step 2: Check Wi-Fi connection.
Toggle the Wi-Fi to [new] and disconnect from any Wi-Fi networks by following on screen "disconnect" prompts. Once disconnected, re-connect to Wi-Fi. Wait a few moments and see if your draft is visible in Postbox. If not, please continue...
Step 3: Check login status.
Once reconnected, toggle 'Wi-Fi' to [on] and check to make sure your email is below the date in the status screen. This ensures you are still logged in. If you are not logged in, hold down the power button for 4 seconds to log into your device. If your draft is still not visible in Postbox, please continue...
Step 4: Check Postbox account connection.
While your device is still logged into your account and connected to Wifi, on your computer please go to postbox.getfreewrite.com.Log into your Postbox account with your login credentials. In the top right corner, next to the Freewrite icon, you should see a green dot. This means your device is connected to Postbox. After a few moments, if your draft is still not visible on Postbox, please continue...
Step 5: Back up and restart.
Back up your documents that are currently saved locally on your device. You can do this by plugging your device into your computer using a Freewrite USB cable. For more detailed instructions, see
Offline document saving and access.
Once backed up, restart your device by holding down the power button for 15 seconds. Once restarted, make sure the device is connected to Wi-Fi and you are logged into your account again.
Step 6: Contact us.
