Offline Document Saving and Access (Smart Typewriter)

Your Freewrite saves all drafts to internal storage, which are then synced to Postbox when connected to Wi-Fi. But you can also access your work offline with the included USB cable.

You will need to make sure you have the most up-to-date software in order to access your documents offline via computer/USB cable.

Step 1: Turn on your device.

Step 2: Plug your device into your computer using the included USB cable.

Once connected, you should see a modal pop up on your device indicating that it has connected to your computer.

Step 3: Find your files.

You will now be able to search your PC and find your device listed as "Freewrite" and assigned to one of the drives.

Inside the “Freewrite” folder, you will see the folder structure (A, B, C) which correlates to the folder structure on the device and in Postbox. By opening the folder, you can see the documents that you have written on your device.

Please note that documents are saved as read-only .txt files.

To learn about two-way syncing, visit our Freewrite Plus page.

To learn more, please read the "README.txt" file in the device folder.

And, as always, you can write us at hello@astrohaus.com for more help!
