Simplified Screensaver – Non Author (Smart Typewriter)

When resting, your device will cycle through a collection of stylized famous author illustrations that currently consist of:

Isaac Asimov
Charles Dickens
William Shakespeare
Agatha Christie
Edgar Allan Poe
Jane Austen
Alexandre Dumas
Mary Shelley

If you would prefer a blank screen instead, it is easy to switch the rotating screensavers off.

Note: The Ernest Hemingway Freewrite Signature Edition does not display the above authors. Instead, it displays a portrait of Hemingway. However, this can be changed to the simplified screensaver, as well.

To turn the setting off on your device, please make sure you device has the most updated firmware. To update your device, please follow instructions detailed here: Firmware update procedure

Once you know your device is up to date, go to Postbox.getfreewrite.com and log into your account. Click on your email address in the top right corner and select "Device Settings" from the dropdown menu.

On device settings, please toggle on the switch that says "Enable Simple Screensaver." That’s it!
