Extended Warranty
Extended Warranty adds one or two years to your Freewrite's manufacturer's warranty. It covers the same things: defects in parts, materials, and workmanship. It doesn't cover drops or liquid damage.
Which Freewrites can get it
Any Smart Typewriter, Traveler, or Alpha bought new:
from us: on getfreewrite.com, in the Shop app, in person, or as a crowdfunding backer reward;
on Amazon;
from another store, with its receipt.
Orders placed through our school and business sales team aren't eligible.
When you can add it
You have 60 days to add Extended Warranty. They start:
For a getfreewrite.com order: when your Freewrite is delivered. If the carrier never confirms a delivery, you have 67 days from when it shipped. Orders placed from November 1 to December 24 can add it through January 7.
For an Amazon order: when you register your Freewrite in Postbox.
For another store: when we approve your receipt.
We'll remind you by email before your window closes.
How to add it
Sign in to Postbox and open your Freewrite's page.
Under Warranty coverage, choose Add coverage, then 1 Year or 2 Years.
Check out on getfreewrite.com. The coverage attaches to that Freewrite.
Already bought Extended Warranty on getfreewrite.com without choosing a device? Postbox asks which Freewrite it's for.
If Postbox doesn't know where your Freewrite came from
On your Freewrite's page, under Warranty coverage, choose Register device:
Bought on getfreewrite.com with a different email: enter the order number, and we'll email a code to the address on the order.
Bought new from a store, then:
Amazon: enter your Amazon order number and the ZIP code it shipped to.
Another store: send a photo or PDF of your receipt. Our support team checks it, and we'll email you when it's approved.
Good to know
Extended Warranty belongs to the person who bought the Freewrite. It doesn't transfer to a new owner.
Each Freewrite can have one Extended Warranty.
If we replace your Freewrite under warranty, your coverage moves to the replacement with the same dates.
