Freewrite unresponsive, hanging, or frozen
Some of the earliest software bugs sporadically caused some Freewrites to freeze or hang. These have virtually all been fixed.
If your Freewrite becomes frozen during normal use, the first thing is to wait and see if it starts responding again.
If the Freewrite does not respond, hold the power button down for 15 seconds to perform a reset.
If the Freewrite does not respond to holding down the power button for 15 seconds, it could be critically low on battery. Please plug the Freewrite into a charger rated at 1000mAh or more using the included USB cable. Let charge for at least 4 hours. Try turning on and resetting the Freewrite again using a long-press of the power button.
IMPORTANT: If you are able to get the Freewrite running again, at the next instance you should connect to Wi-Fi and make sure the Freewrite is running the latest version of firmware. See the procedure in the Related Articles below.
